The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position (#129050) in Sociology at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank. The position start date is August 1, 2017. The successful candidate will join a department of 12 sociologists and 9 anthropologists which offers undergraduate majors in both fields and an M.A. in Sociology. Areas of substantive interests are open. However, special consideration may be given to applicants with expertise or teaching interest in one or more of the following: theory, statistics, deviance, medical sociology, and race/ethnicity. Candidates will be expected to teach courses in their area(s) of expertise at both the undergraduate and graduate level. A PhD in Sociology is expected at time of appointment. MTSU is located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, a fast growing, culturally rich, and affordable community 34 miles southeast of Nashville.
