Assistant Professor, Social Psychology

The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in social psychology. Candidates must demonstrate a strong record of publication and potential for teaching excellence. Experience in extramural funding is preferred. Competitive candidates for this position will be expected to have research interests that overlap with one or more of the department’s other areas of emphasis, which will contribute to promoting a diverse and multicultural curriculum. We prefer candidates who can teach graduate and undergraduate research methods.

Applicants must be ABD and must have completed the requirements for the PhD by the time of appointment July 1, 2017. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and experience. Advancement through the faculty ranks at the University of California is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input.
