The Sociology Department at Southern Methodist University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2018 pending budgetary approval. We seek candidates with primary research and teaching interests in economic sociology, work and/or labor markets. The successful applicant will have an ambitious research program and excellent teaching skills. The position offers a teaching load of two courses each semester. In addition to Sociology courses, applicants will teach core courses in, and have an opportunity to contribute to the continued development of a popular, interdisciplinary Markets and Culture major managed by the Sociology Department.
