Assistant Professor, University of Alabama Huntsville

The Department of Sociology at the University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2017. Ideal candidates will be serious educators and scholars with excellent teaching skills and a research agenda with potential for peer-reviewed publications in our discipline. In general, we value broadly trained sociologists, and all faculty teach Introduction to Sociology. The regular teaching load is three courses per semester. We are specifically interested in applicants with primary expertise in the field of race and ethnicity and ability to teach in additional areas that complement or expand the department’s strengths. A PhD in Sociology is required by the date of appointment.
