The Department of Sociology and the American Studies Program invite applications for the position of Associate or Full Professor of Sociology, to begin July 1, 2017. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in sociology or a related field, a demonstrated record of academic research and publications deserving of tenure, and a demonstrated record of high quality teaching of undergraduates. The candidate is expected to provide future leadership for the inter-disciplinary American Studies Program, including directing the program. Candidates’ research and teaching should specialize in class inequality, labor, and/or related fields. Candidates who can teach social theory are especially encouraged to apply.
