Lecturer, Appalachian State University

The Department of Sociology invites applications for a full time non-tenure-track nine-month Lecturer position beginning August 2017, depending on resource availability. This is a one year appointment, with the possibilitof renewal. Candidates, at minimum, should hold a Master’s degree in Sociology. Instructional duties will include general lower-level sociology courses, with opportunities for teaching in other areas depending on the candidate’s expertise. Advising and service activities are also required. 

Appalachian State University is a member institution of the sixteen-campus University of North Carolina System. Located in the scenic mountains of Boone, North Carolina, the university has approximately 18,000 students, primarily in bachelors and master programs in both liberal m1s and applied fields.
