Open-Rank Position, Criminology, Mississippi State University 

MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY—The Department of Sociology invites applications for an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor to begin in fall 2018. We seek candidates who conduct research in, and are committed to teaching about, Criminology. Preference will be given to candidates whose research and teaching complements our existing areas of concentration and research expertise. Completion of the Ph.D. in Sociology or Criminology by time of hire is required. Active participation in the teaching, research and service responsibilities of the department. Teach introductory, advanced undergraduate and graduate courses. Participate in departmental activities.
The department has more than 400 undergraduate majors and 40 sociology graduate students with strong ties to the African American Studies Program, Gender Studies Program, the Social Science Research Center, the National Strategic Planning & Analysis Research Center, and the Southern Rural Development Center. Programs offered include BA, BSW, MS, and a Ph.D. in Sociology. http://www.sociology.msstate.edu
