Visiting Assistant Professor, University of California, Riverside

The Department of Sociology at the University of California, Riverside invites applicants for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2025. The position is open in terms of areas of emphasis. Salary is commensurate with completion of a PhD in Sociology prior to the July 1 start date.

A candidate must demonstrate teaching excellence, an active research program, and service to the profession. Teaching will involve six courses over three quarters. A past record of research and future research potential also should be shown, as well as good citizenship as evidenced in service to the discipline.

Applicants will be required to submit a cover letter of interest, updated CV, a teaching statement, teaching evaluations, a research statement, two samples of research work, a statement of past and planned future contributions to advancing diversity and inclusive excellence, and three letters of reference.
