The Association of Black Sociologists is comprised of an expansive network of supportive scholars, practitioners, and students with a range of insights into the field. ABS members gain access to formal and informal mentoring networks, horizontal and vertical, and have the opportunity to share their research at the annual conference in a community of people fiercely committed to social scientific scholarship on Black life and liberation. Members also receive registration discounts for the conference; access the ABS newsletter, The Griot; and a subscription to the organization’s journal, Issues in Race & Society: An Interdisciplinary Global Journal.
